On Wednesday 13th July we have the Super Full Buck Moon in Capricorn to grace our clear summer skies. This Moon is also referred to the Thunder Moon and even the Hay Moon in Europe. This is going to be a big, beautiful ball of feminine energy up in our sky as she will be at her closest point to Earth this year. Not that it is correct terminology, but I like to call it the Extra Super Full Moon.
So, taking all this already intensified energy and then her hanging out in the sign of Capricorn… yes, it’s major and packs a punch! As we still glide along in the fluidity of Cancer season and being asked to remember who or what is our “home”, we can use this Capricorn energy to further take a long hard look at our lives, except this time we need to go within. It’s us. Ourselves. Leave all other external factors to the side for now.
Capricorns are fierce, determined, feisty, hardworking, ambitious, and never back down. Capricorns are also very concerned with their public image and how they are viewed by others. To follow on from my other posts and my endless quest for old fashioned romantic love… I must ask myself at this point, how can I expect someone else to love me when I don’t fully love myself? Loving yourself unconditionally is a very difficult human thing to do and is something very few of us ever fully accomplish in our lifetimes. So, let’s gather up all this energy now to tap into ourselves and ask inside of us some thought provoking questions.
Are we happy with our public selves? Are we true to ourselves? Do our public and private selves align? What are our insecurities? How can we change our mental negative thinking of ourselves? What do I do to take the time to love myself, and how can I improve this?
Use these prompts in your own Moon ritual. Or mediate on them, journal with them or just contemplate them in quiet in bed before you go to sleep. You need to be honest and raw with yourself and don’t hold back. A Capricorn wouldn’t! And Full Moons are all about release after all!
The answers you find can stir up emotions inside of you and bring a harsh reality check and that’s ok, feel them, sit with them, then give it over to the Goddess. Allow her motherly love to shine down on you and know she has you and holds you. To address some hard truths about yourself is always in your best interest as we need to be real, vulnerable, and honest to allow transformation to happen. This is also an amazing way to reclaim back your power, find clarity and uncover inner self freedom…. And love!
We do need to remain balanced and positive too, although we need to address what changes we need to make, we need to take this time to give ourselves a little pat on the back for encouragement. Where is Capricorn in your birth chart (an internet search can provide you a free chart)? Congratulate yourself on this area of your life. What changes were you determined to make in your life since the last New Moon in Capricorn 6 months ago, and succeeded in making?
So, show up for yourself and love yourself every damn day with the fierce determination of a Capricorn. Always remember that your vibe attracts your tribe, so ANY self-discovery and healing we do goes a long way to raising our own vibration which gives off a that high vibe glow that others are drawn to… there is nothing more attractive to a partner than someone who loves and accepts themselves, flaws and all.
